Our Application & Selection Process

1. Every Application Receives Individual Consideration

Boots to Beaches believes that every applicant has a unique story.

We recognize that military service, emergency response, personal sacrifice, and family hardship affect individuals differently.

Applications are evaluated based on several considerations, including:

• Military or first responder service and eligibility.
• Personal and family circumstances.
• Physical, emotional, or psychological challenges.
• Opportunities for family reconnection and restoration.
• The potential positive impact of a restorative getaway.

Our goal is to understand the person and family behind each application, not simply review information on a form.

2. Verification of Service and Eligibility

To protect the integrity of our programs, Boots to Beaches may request documentation verifying an applicant’s eligibility.

Depending on the applicant’s circumstances, documentation may include military service records, veteran identification, first responder credentials, or documentation establishing Gold Star Family eligibility.

All information submitted must be accurate and truthful.

Knowingly providing false or misleading information may result in disqualification.

3. Application Review Committee (ARC)

Boots to Beaches utilizes an Application Review Committee (ARC) to evaluate applications and identify individuals and families who may benefit most from our programs.

The committee considers each applicant’s circumstances, the organization’s mission, and available resources.

The ARC develops recommendations for consideration by the Boots to Beaches Board of Directors.

4. Board Review and Final Selection

Following committee evaluation, recommended applications are presented to the Boots to Beaches Board of Directors for final consideration.

Selections are based on the organization’s charitable mission, available funding, program capacity, and the anticipated restorative impact.

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection or financial assistance.

5. Mental Health and Family Wellness

Boots to Beaches recognizes that restoration involves more than changing locations.

Our mission emphasizes emotional wellness, family relationships, and meaningful opportunities to reconnect.

With support from our Clinical Director and wellness professionals, we strive to incorporate resources that encourage healthy communication, emotional restoration, and family resilience.

Our restorative getaways are intended to complement, not replace, professional medical or mental health treatment.

6. Protecting Applicant Privacy

We understand that applicants may share sensitive personal experiences, service histories, or family circumstances.

Boots to Beaches is committed to treating this information with dignity and discretion.

Applicant information is intended to be used for eligibility verification, program evaluation, and selection decisions.

7. Stewardship of Donor Contributions

Every donation represents someone’s belief in our mission.

Boots to Beaches is committed to responsible financial stewardship and ensuring that charitable resources support our approved programs and organizational mission.
